Word, p3t3. I have officially switched to buying DRM-free stuff from Amazon. It's cheaper and just as easy, and it all goes straight to my iTunes, super-sinchy.

word mike.

(wait, is it really *cheaper*?)

fwiw - the tension here, at least with me and my idealism, is that the labels are trying to break iTunes (the people responsible for establishing electronic commerce of music) by letting amazon sell their stuff DRM free but requiring iTunes to use DRM. (with the exception higher priced EMI tracks).

I love record companies.
They've managed to get it right again!!
And cd sales are way down? What a way to embrace the future of music, by pissing off all your customers.

yep, ten cents per song cheaper!

and I hear you on the idealism, p3t3. I'm an Apple enthusiast, and hate to see them get strong-armed like this. At the same time, Apple is threatening to shut down iTunes, b/c they can't compete. So I hate to leave them hanging, but not as much as I hate not having the use of my own property.
