HousE of EchO -LIVE- Video

The House of EchO sound is an ambitious hybrid of rock and roll infused with soul music.

This video is of a live on air performance for Comcast SportNet Television which was hosted at Champs in Reston VA. It captures the fun spirit, intense musicianship as well as how good this band is live!!

A major buzz is growing swiftly about the bands high-powered live performances; passion is clearly evident as they introduce original music to a growing audience several times a month. House of EchO is currently Washington DCs best-kept secret, but not for long.
Would you like to hear more??? Ok, just visit House Of EchO at www.houseofecho.com

Special thanks to Brad at Studio 51 for his assistance in recording and production.

Indescribable -Sync- Video

Indescribable

a concept video that Melting Earth calls a "sync video”; originally created with a "click" track (metronome) in the left channel so that a drummer & band can play live to this video and stay in time - this demo version includes the stereo track as well as some sound FX (originally in the right channel so they could be added to the house mix of the band).

originally produced by P3T3RK3Y5 at the request of a friend to be used for the opening of a new church facility - it has since received a lot of attention.

the song is of course Chris Tomlin's version of Indescribable - and the lyrics are very literal (not very metaphorical - e.g. a river is a river, not freedom). i really tried to stretch the video story in new directions. Much of my inspiration is from Brian Green's Book "The Elegant Universe" (...if you can think of a more God-glorifying name for a book than that - let me know!!)... but also based on my own training. e.g. the cool looking formula's you see are “Maxwell's Equations”, and they govern everything about light electricity and magnetism - or “electro-magnetic fields”. I studied those four equations for two semesters in my undergrad engineering coursework, but didn’t get a very good grade from my “fields” teacher.

Melting Earth has many more idea’s for sync videos - but the start up costs for producing these is astronomical. Would you like to see more??? Let us know!!!

Pride -Parable- Video

This is a concept video originally created by Wayne - a "modern day parable". That is, the concept starts with a biblical truth (in this case, similar to the man who built his house on the sand), but is reinterpreted (artistically, faithfully) to speak to the same truth with a new story-line that resonates more significantly (in an earth-melting way) given the context of twentieth century culture.

This was created with all original source material (thus this video can be distributed) - Wayne created the video track (he originally scored it with a Moby tune) and P3T3RK3Y5 re-scored it with his own cool spooky vibey soundtrack.

Melting Earth has about 50 modern day parable concepts developed - the question is: do you want more??? let us know!!!

Babel | Penticost

This summer my church has been in the OT looking at the great christian myths -- those larger than life stories - about Samson, Daniel, Jonah, Ruth, the Tower of Babel -- and well, our production team could've called them "sunday school stories", but we didn't. we called them "christian mythology" because these stories are larger than life. larger than the flannelgraph versions -- and definitely a lot more PG-13 or NC-17 we got when we were kids. as we are rediscovering them, they are speaking to us in a big big way. and i'd like to tell you about one in particular -- i had the chance to play an audio role in it -- and since it was such a big deal for me, i wanted to share.

we looked at the Tower of Babel story from Genesis 11, and then saw this amazing reverse echo in Pentecost -- that Pentecost was the movie of the Tower of Babel, run in reverse:
ToB: mankind not waiting on God & trying to make something happen
Pen: mankind waiting on God & God making something happen
ToB: all the people speak one language / God divides the languages
Pen: all the people speak many languages / God unifies the languages
ToB: people trying to stay together
Pen: people going out

... anctually this was stacy's euraka which became the thesis of the morning, which was largely a discussion time. but then... also a meditation. which is where i came in. our production team challenged me -- and i was really excited about -- doing an uptempo, 10 minute meditation bit using spoken word from all the languages i could get ahold of in our small (<50) church. I found mike who could read hebrew and greek. my girlfriend jackie spoke arabic (she lived in cairo for six years). a french foreign exchange student contributed authentic french. and my two friends lily and john who are still in school contributed from their latin studies (kids are so smart these days). my friend dee did the primary spoken voice in english, which i used as sort of a backbone, but then dropped way back into the mix.

please feel free to use this as a service idea in your congregation... download the audio if it works for you -- or get inspired to do your own thing.
